Need your help: behavior at the pool

Hi Folks,

First, thanks for all the “thank you’s” on the renovation work.  Really appreciate it.

Disappointingly I’m having to write this email not even a week into the season and believe me, I’m not a fan of writing these types of emails and perhaps some folks did not read my welcome email last Friday.

I’ve received numerous complaints on some basic common courtesy that is lacking:

  • Young children using the restrooms without an adult and causing messes on the toilet seats, unflushed toilets, paper on the floors, and some other items I will refrain from writing.  Therefore, if you have small kids, accompany them to the bathroom.

  • Trash being left on tables and ground, and tables not being wiped down after use.  (I personally spent a good amount of time the other morning picking up broken water balloons on the parking lot and surrounding grounds).  Therefore, if you make a mess (or your kids/guests do, clean it up….we provide Windex and paper towel at the outdoor sink and if you need additional cleaning apparatus or supplies for the bathroom, ask the lifeguard to provide to you…don’t just ignore it).

  • Kids being unruly in general.  Therefore…. hopefully I don’t need to explain how to maintain discipline of your kids.

Folks, as I mentioned in my opening letter, you are 100% responsible for your kids and guest’s actions and knowing their whereabouts at the pool.  Lifeguards are there to help provide general safety and order, but they are not your babysitters or in charge of your kids.  This is simply common courtesy to your fellow members.

I appreciate in advance your support so everyone can enjoy the facility.

Thanks,

Bill
