Residents,

We hope everyone is enjoying this “unusual” summer.  The Board is asking each of you to think about volunteering for the neighborhood.  We can keep our membership fees low and standards high with the time and talent of our Volunteer Board.  As many of you know, some of the board members have been serving for a number of years and are stepping down.  With that, we greatly need a few members to step up to help out our community with the most critical position being the Treasurer role.

Things to consider –

Being part of the BCA Board is a great way to get to know your neighbors and to get involved to make our Byrnwyck community a stronger neighborhood.

  • Being involved a great way to meet many people in the neighborhood that you might otherwise not meet.
  • Build on the great enhancements that have been evolving over the years to add more value & enjoyment to our community….. pool house renovations, pool deck expansion, new parking lot, new tennis pavilion, common grounds improvements & beautification, etc….
  • The experience is fulfilling and builds a sense of community, and not mention the financial benefits of increasing our collective property values.
  • Being involved increases awareness and you will know how fortunate we all are to live in such a great neighborhood.
  • The time commitment for these positions are very manageable for busy people.  Most current volunteers work full time, have children and  other obligations.  (My husband and I know first hand as this describes our lifestyle!)
  • If you have already served, thank you, and please consider getting involved again perhaps in a different role as it is great to reconnect and a great way to meet all the new faces!
  • Having members lead is so much better than a management company (besides someone still needs to manager the management company).

Below is a listing of the current roles that require filling, so if you are interested, please contact us.

Board Positions that require filling:

Vice President – To work with Kate Emling and to be the future President. This position oversees the volunteer leads and provides business sense to the role.

Treasurer –Previous Accounting Experience desired and some knowledge of Quick Books would be fantastic. Responsible for Accounts Receivable/Payables and Budgets.

Committee Members Needed:

Grounds – Do you love gardening; working with landscapers, then this is the job for you.  Coordinate/oversee the grounds maintenance for the front entrance and the pool/tennis area.

Covenants –Coordinate/oversee the bylaws and the covenants in the neighborhood as well as staying current on local community developments.

Social Committee – Kellee Hoad is the Social Chair and she needs several committee heads to take the lead on social functions.  The vision for the social committee is that each member would lead a social activity or two.  Each person can make their plan and be as elaborate or simple as they chose.  (Annual time commitment – 5 hours).  Here are some ideas but we certainly welcome your suggestions.
