Happy October, Byrnwyck!🍁🍂

It may look a little different this year, but 🕸Halloween🕷in Byrnwyck is always special, and we want to celebrate the start of the holiday season!
This year Halloween falls on a Saturday, a full moon is on the calendar, and daylight savings time begins that evening!  If those aren't sufficient reasons to bring out our most fearsome costumes, I don't know what would be!
First and most importantly, TRICK OR TREATING is still ON!  In order to make this happen safely, we encourage the following measures:
  1. all costumes should have masks*
  2. all parents accompanying their children should wear masks when appropriate distancing is not possible
  3. all treats should be individually packaged, i.e. only store-bought, wrapped candy, nothing homemade
  4. we encourage the use of tables on your driveways/sidewalks or cul-de-sacs with treats laid out to keep kids from congregating on a porch
  5. take your time; please no large groups on porches or around the aforementioned tables
  6. if you do not wish to participate, please turn outside lights off or otherwise indicate trick-or-treaters should not stop at your home
  7. for our creative and handy homeowners, there are a few images of candy-chutes below if you want to pass out treats from a distance
We are also sponsoring a YARD DECORATING CONTEST.  Bring out your best and scariest (or just most delightful!) Halloween decor - PRIZES will be awarded along with bragging rights:  $200 gift card for the best house/yard, $100 gift card for second place and $50 gift card for third place.  **Judging will occur on Friday, October 30th, so make sure all decorations are up by the evening of the 30th.  Inside member homes only**
We will not have our usual pizza and dance party at the pool parking lot this year.  We're still considering a treat for the parents and a costume parade for the kids, so stay tuned for those announcements.

*A costume mask may not be a good substitute for a close face covering unless it has multiple layers of breathable fabric and covers the mouth and nose snuggly.
